• "T" separates player's opponent from player's accumulated game points.  Draw is 1, Win is 2 points, Bye is 3, and Forfeit is 4.
• Players were welcomed to Econo Lodge, Burlington, NC by a nice front desk counter top display sign announcing "Welcome !  2014 Greensboro Open Checker Tournament"
• Teal Stanley, Greensboro Open Tournament Director gave a warm welcomed to 8 players from 3 states as 6 from North Carolina, 1 each from South Carolina and Virginia.  This tournament is named in honor of Bill McClintock who we miss as a player, friend, and a man who loved and supported North Carolina Checkers. Billy organized and directed this tournament from the mid 1990's until 2009, some of his last tournaments were at his home with Mrs. Frances McClintock's home cooked dinners.  Matthew Clark from Fort Mill, SC was recognized as the furthers traveling distance player at 130 miles, a little more than Ryan Pronk from Forest, VA at 115 miles but actually about the same driving time.
• In the 9:00AM business meeting Teal Stanley bless the tournament and lead us in prayer before opened up the tournament for play.
• JR Smith call Teal Stanley and Tim Laverty Friday afternoon asking for their support as tournament directors since he was unable to attend because of a bad chest cold.
• Tournament schedule and playing rules were skipped since all players were experienced tournament players and familiar with this information from it being published in the tournament announcement, bulletins, newsletters, and on the ACF & NCCA website.  However, it was briefly mentioned that 1st bye is awarded randomly for pairing if necessary; thereafter, to the lowest points player, multiple byes are awarded at a reduced 2 points.  Prize funds are only paid out to those players completing the tournament, and those amounts not paid are applied to next years fund if the payout schedule is already figured and posted in the playing room, otherwise they are paid out to the finishing players as outline in the ACF Tournament Guide.  Withdrawn players are also not placed as a finished position but dropped to the bottom showing only their rounds played for the ratings processor.
• Entry fees were $20.00 x 8 players = $160.00 Total Cash Prize Fund which was paid through the entire field.
• The tournament played 4 Swiss paired rounds with the final round using King-of-the-Hill pairing which allows for only one re-pairing.
• Please mark your calendar for the next two big May checker events: May 9 & 10th is the West Tennessee Strawberry Opening and the following weekend is the 124th North Carolina State Open scheduled for May 16th and 17th.
• This Tournament Flyer was mailed to approximately 45 players and sent out to all email checker player's addresses.
• We appreciate the drinks and snacks supplied by Teal Stanley.
• We appreciate Tim Laverty as our official referee and scorekeeper, and  Econo Lodge, our venue for keeping coffee available throughout our tournament.
• A good time was had by everyone.
